Chemours Labor Pool Operator in Belle, West Virginia

The Chemours Company, headquartered in Wilmington, DE, has Chemical Operator positions available at the Belle Plant in Belle, WV. This is a key role within the Operations Function, and it will report to Operations Team Leader. Candidates will be required to package highly hazardous bulk chemicals, serve on the site emergency response team, and provide general labor and maintenance for site support.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas

  • Package finished products in assigned areas in accordance with area procedures ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met. .

  • Perform immediate response activities and manage unplanned events

  • Use process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and Operating Discipline

  • Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines

  • Act as an emergency responder on the Belle Emergency Response Team

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • High School diploma/equivalency

  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing role

  • Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others

  • Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong reading comprehension and listening skills

  • Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Strong work ethic, discipline, and high attention to detail

  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator (no facial hair), SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb stairs, reach overhead, lift up to 50lbs, and have excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity, with or without accommodation.

  • Ability to work in a High Hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

  • Ability to work rotating 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs require.

  • A current and valid, state-issued driver's license

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • 2 or more years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing role

  • Possess a degree or certificate from a college or technical school in Process Technology or Chemical Operations
