Chemours Logistics Buyer in Beveren, Belgium

For our EMEA Logistics team, we are looking for a Logistics Buyer. This position reports to the Logistics Manager EMEA and is based in Kallo. The main responsibility is to understand the business logistics needs and to procure corresponding services at lowest total cost of ownership.


  • Collaborates with the different Chemours business units to understand their present & future needs, identifies opportunities for improvement, develops & implements new alternatives, lowers the total cost of ownership. Translates the requests from the internal customers towards the suppliers and within the global network.

  • Maintains the logistics competency and expertise in Chemours by:

  • Studying latest developments in the logistics market/logistics industry in terms of systems, processes and technologies.

  • Bringing the logistics expertise to the business units

  • Participating in logistics trainings, conferences, events, fairs, etc

  • Understands & stays up to date about local & international legislation & regulations related to cross border logistics & foreign trade

  • Procures logistics suppliers, build partnerships and provides operational support services in transportation: forwarders, carriers, warehouse and/or 3PL providers. Leads tenders in Europe and participates in global tenders.

  • Monitors and drives suppliers’ evaluations. Incorporates the performance levels in the final negotiations and translates the offer from the suppliers towards the internal customers. Maintains transport rates, contracts and operating procedures.

  • Performs logistics studies and projects as a project leader. Provides assistance to the business units and PLR (Procurement Logistics Real Estate) teams on special projects such as new business, new markets, supply chain transformations, etc.


  • Master or Bachelor degree with 3-5 years relevant work experience in Logistics.

  • Procurement experience and / or commercial experience in a logistics environment is a strong plus.

  • Communication and negotiating skills.

  • Language skills: English, Dutch, other European languages are an asset.

  • Strong knowledge & capability in logistics and supply chain (domestic & international)

  • PC skills: Microsoft, Transport Management System, SAP is a plus.

  • Project management skills

  • Interpersonal competences, networking skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Being able to multi-task, set priorities, organize work and implement action items.
