Chemours Chemical Engineer Spring/Summer Co-op in Deepwater, New Jersey

Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer Co-op to join our team at the Chambers Works Site in Deepwater, NJ. This position will report directly to an Area Manager and work with engineers in the said Area. The successful candidate will work a full-time position of 40 hours per week from April-September 2019.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting engineers with product and process development

  • Process simulation studies

  • Evaluation of major unit operations and computer oriented assignments

  • Preparing Test Authorizations or Process Hazards Reviews

  • Participating in meetings, webinars, and conference calls

  • Working with, maintaining, and sharing material on Microsoft SharePoint Sites

  • Managing assigned projects, tracking progress, and communicating with mentor or co-workers as appropriate

In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:

  • Current enrollment at an accredited university as a sophomore or above

  • Chemical Engineering course work or experience

  • Ability to work with minimal guidance

  • Self-motivated

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Work well as a team player

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Creative and independent thinker

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Access

The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in chemicals industry

  • 3.5 GPA or above
