The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has an Analytical Chemist position available in Parkersburg, WV. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Manufacturing Technology function. This position will report to Manufacturing Technology Manager for FPS Monomer.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Daily support of the analytical requirements of the Teflon® Monomer Plant.

  • Support of three specific labs environments: Control Lab, Field Lab, On-Line Analyzers.

  • Support the routine samples required by the Operations Team, as well as analysis of non-standard samples.

  • Maintain the analytical equipment and lab environment. This includes the necessary calibrations of the instruments, performing routine maintenance, maintaining required documentation.

  • Work with the Technology Team on developing test methods to support innovative work in the facility. This will include support to other technical personnel, as well as potential development work which will be assigned to the chemist.

  • Investigate and recommend equipment replacements as needed. This will include replacement of existing test equipment as well as potentially new equipment which could be used.

In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.

  • 1-6 years of experience in a direct analytical chemistry role.

  • Experience with Chromatography.

The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:

  • A Master’s Degree in Chemistry.

  • Excellent oral and written skills.

  • 10+ years of experience in a direct analytical chemistry role.

  • Extensive experience with Chromatography.

  • Experience with Mass Spec.

  • Working knowledge of Agilent Open Lab or Chemstation software.

  • Experience with ABB on-line gas chromatographs.
