The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has an Environmental Consultant position available in Starke, FL. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Safety, Health, & Environmental Management function. This position will report to the Facilities Consultant.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in administration of all site environmental programs including, but not limited to, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and SARA/CERCLA

  • Oversees preparation, maintenance, and submission of records, reports, notifications and plans required by the company and regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, Title V and Title III reporting, SARA Tier 2 NPDES and POTW discharge monitoring reports, stormwater, groundwater, RCRA, remediation, wastewater reports, etc.

  • Maintain meaningful working relationships with regulatory agencies

  • Analyze data and evaluate current performance and trends

  • Plan and lead self-assessments to identify opportunities to improve performance

  • Ensure systems (resources/methods) to assess facility compliance status are implemented, tracked, and modified as necessary

  • Proactively increase knowledge of current and emerging federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements affecting site operations

  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of site processes and how they affect compliance

  • Develop corrective and preventative actions

  • Assists emergency/crisis and spill response activities and notifications

  • Routine field auditing and visibility for interactions with employees.

  • Guides and maintains continuous improvements of the site EHS managing processes and procedures.

  • Participates, or ensures representation, in relevant site incident investigations to address/ determine root causes, key factors, and corrective actions.

  • Learn EHS related compliance software.

  • Work to improve systems, processes, individual capability and ownership around environmental compliance

  • Participate as Core Process Owner for site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS)

  • Participate and assist in preparation of 1st and 2nd party EHS and ISO 14001 audits

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • BS or higher degree in environmental science, engineering or related discipline.

  • At least 4+ years of Environmental consultant/coordinator experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision. Additionally, the successful candidate will be one who can multi-task, deal with fast changing and sometimes conflicting priorities and who possesses thorough organizational and communication skills.

  • The ability to collaborate, networking skills and interpersonal relations are all important to the job.
