Chemours EHS & Sustainability Summer Intern in Wilmington, Delaware

Chemours is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Intern to join our growing EHS team! This position will report directly to the Strategic Planning Manager in our Wilmington, DE location and will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week from May-August.

The intern in this role will work across both our Sustainability and EHS teams at our corporate site owning multiple tasks and projects. The candidate in this role will understand how both teams’ commitments are embedded in everything we do at Chemours and how our strategies are advanced on a day-to-day basis

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Working heavily in Excel analyzing sustainability and environmental calculations, ensuring data is correct, cataloging data, and taking inventory of information

  • Assisting EHS with rewriting processes and procedures across plant sites

  • Tracking safety metrics, trends, and identifying opportunities for improvement to help make informed decisions across all business lines

  • Expanding knowledge of our businesses and our product offerings

  • Developing and processing presentations, correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, and reports

  • Identifying and managing scheduling conflicts and changes in priorities proactively

  • Monitoring project deadlines and track progress toward completion, communicating with management as appropriate

  • Maintaining accurate records

  • Coordinating and attending meetings, webinars, and conference calls

  • Maintaining existing and creating new files, contact lists, itineraries, and mailings as needed

  • Collaborate with scientific professionals to meet team goals

  • Performing other duties as assigned

In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:

  • Enrolled in an accredited higher education institution as a rising sophomore, junior or senior

  • Working towards a degree in either Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Engineering, Safety Sciences, or Public Health

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • Ability to work and manage time independently with minimal supervision

  • Eagerness and willingness to learn in a professional environment

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and positive outlook

The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:

  • Previous EHS or Sustainability internship or co-op in the chemicals industry

  • 3.5 GPA or above
