Chemours Maintenance and Reliability Engineer Spring/Summer Co-Op in Wilmington, Delaware
Chemours is seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer Co-Op join our growing team! This position will report directly into the Corporate Maintenance and Reliability group in our Wilmington, DE location and will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week from April to September.

The Maintenance and Reliability Co-Op will work closely with reliability engineers, manufacturing technology leaders, and other corporate experts to improve the overall reliability of our manufacturing facilities. This will involve detailed analysis of seals, bearings, impellers, piping systems, transformers, control valves and other manufacturing related equipment to understand the process requirements and fitness for service. It will also include teaming with the IT organization develop the databases and automated tools to gather, analyze and report out the plant performance data used to prioritize work for the biggest business impact.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducting detailed analysis of seals, bearings, impellers, piping systems, transformers, control valves and other manufacturing related equipment to understand the process requirements and fitness for service
Analyzing an existing database of repair parts to prioritize data enhancement activities that will provide the largest business impact
Configuring corporate uptime reporting tools to facilitate business decisions to prioritize improvement projects
Developing computer based assessment tools to measure manufacturing site adherence to corporate best practices
Leading database development program to track reliability program status and test results for product shipment trailers
Improving plant reliability through analysis of equipment downtime causes
In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:
Current enrollment at an accredited university as a sophomore or above at the start of the assignment
BS Candidate in Chemical or Mechanic al Engineering
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong spreadsheet and database skills (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, VBA)
The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:
Previous internship or co-op experience in chemicals industry
3.5 GPA or above
Demonstrated knowledge of chemical processes and methodologies applicable to a manufacturing setting
Demonstrated ability to manage and work with large datasets in MS Excel and/or Access (Spreadsheet filters, V-Lookups, etc.) while maintaining data integrity
Knowledge of SAP
