The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Procurement Specialist position available in Wilmington, DE. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Procurement & Logistics function. This position will report to The Global Category Manager for Environmental Services and Water Treatment.
General Position Overview
As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and documenting purchases for materials and services in the Environmental and Site Services Categories. This includes knowledge in the Environmental Services category related to water treatment, remediation, waste disposal, analytical laboratories, stack testing, regulatory compliance consultants and more. For Site Services, knowledge and familiarity with security, janitorial, industrial cleaning, uniforms and more.
This is a career-oriented position available at our headquarters in downtown Wilmington, DE. This Specialist role will be responsible for the entire buy process, which includes analyzing data, qualifying suppliers, gathering scopes, creating RFPs, negotiating, managing and coordinating agreements, supporting the procurement of various materials and/or services in the Environmental/Site Services Category. The Specialist will serve as the buyer of record with execution authority of approximately. The Specialist may also assist in larger purchases with other Buyers, Sr. Buyers, and Global Category Managers with the ability to advance to those positions.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Utilizing source selection techniques (best value, Total Cost of Ownership etc.)
Performing cost analyses, conduct negotiations, and identify supplier risks
Executing RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and/or sealed bids
Assisting in the development agreements
Negotiates and delivers savings to meet business requirements and S&L objectives
Interfacing with Cross Function Global Teams to understand technical challenges and provide solution options for "buy" technologies
Ensuring that requirements (prime contract, quality, terms and conditions) are properly communicated to suppliers
Managing supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements
Interfacing with internal and supplier cross-functional organizations
Compiling and analyzing information to keep informed on industry trends and manufacturing processes
Oversees contract implementation and supplier performance and interaction.
In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:
BS in Business or Supply Chain Management
3-5 years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Project Management, or Engineering.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong communication skills (oral & written) & client service orientation
Discretion with information
Good professional judgment
Strong negotiation skills
Detail-oriented; Highly organized
Self-motivated; Ability to work independently
Ability to travel up to 10%
The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:
BS in Engineering
3-5 years’ experience in Environmental Service
Experience working in industrial plant operations
Continuous improvement background (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean Management) is a plus
Experience in e-Sourcing and SAP is a plus.
