The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Supervisor - Pilot Development Facilities position available in Wilmington, DE. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Technology function. This position will report to the R&D Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise and direct activities by 12 Day technicians and 8 Shift technicians working in a high-hazard, semi-works environment.

  • Building Proprietor for E269, E241 and E258 Buildings responsible for their safe operations.

  • Coordinate activities that support the 24X7 small-lots production involving Shift technicians & meet the production demand while maintaining operational safety & discipline.

  • Coordinate activities that support the R&D piloting work on various development projects and maintain/prioritize staffing to meet business deliverables.

  • Champion and maintain high-standards of operational discipline and process safety management including safe handling of highly toxic materials.

  • Implement improvements in work systems that help with productivity, communications and leveraging of resources across Buildings and between projects.

  • Direct activities by Mechanical and E&I contractors to meet business deliverables on small lots manufacturing and R&D development projects.

  • Leadership in people management including conflict resolution, building strong teams and personal accountability.

  • Maintain/improve SHE effectiveness through personal behavior, coaching, counseling, reinforcing standards, training and presence.

In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:

  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and people management.

  • High awareness and standards for safety and operational discipline.

  • Strong knowledge base of Chemours Process Safety Management principles and practices.

  • Ability to multi task and have excellent time management skills.

  • Basic familiarity with general, organic and analytical chemistry

  • Basic familiarity with Process Operations: Distillation, Heat Exchange, Mixing, and Reactions

  • Process Control and Instrumentation

  • Good computer skills: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, SAP, etc

The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:

  • Prior experience working in an environment with high-hazard chemicals and processes.
