Chemours Tax Accounting & Compliance Co-Op in Wilmington, Delaware

Chemours is seeking an Accounting Co-Op to join our growing Accounting Policy team! This position will report directly to the Accounting Policy & Compliance Manager in our Wilmington, DE location and will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week from April-September.

The Accounting Co-Op will assist the Controllership and Accounting Policy groups with day-to-day activities and special projects. This will include contributing to the month-end close process, quarter-end financial reporting process, Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR) compliance, and technical accounting research. This position will support a variety of groups within Controllership, including Accounting Policy, Consolidation, External Reporting, and Internal Controls & Compliance.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting in various accounting and reporting activities at month-end and quarter-end close

  • Contributing to the issuance of quarterly external financial statements

  • Assisting controllership staff in the management of the company’s Sarbanes Oxley compliance program and review control documentation across various regions for consistency and identification of best practices

  • Assisting in various administrative tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Controllership team such as updates of policies and procedures documentation

  • Gaining a deeper understanding of the Corporate Accounting and Finance functions of a publicly traded company

In order to be qualified for this role, you /must possess/ the following:

  • Current enrollment at an accredited university as a sophomore or above

  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or relatable field of study

The following skill sets are /preferred/ by the business unit:

  • 3.2 GPA or above
